Valentina Farcas has worked with some of the foremost conductors and directors of our time including Maestros Riccardo Muti, Riccardo Chailly, Kirill Petrenko, Jaap van Zweden, Nikolas Harnoncourt, Kurt Masur, Fabio Luisi, Rene Jacobs, Fabio Biondi, Ivor Bolton, Paavo Järvi, Jeffrey Tate, Bruno Bartoletti, Bertrand de Billy, Thomas Hengelbrock, Alessandro de Marchi, Riccardo Frizza, Christopher Hogwood, Kent Nagano and stage directors Robert Carsen, Stefan Heerheim, Damiano Michieletto, Barrie Kosky, Laurent Pelly, Daniele Abbado, Cristina Muti, Guy Joosten and others. Upcoming engagements include her debut at Teatro alla Scala Milano with Richard Strauss’ Vier Letze Lieder in a unique collaboration with the Ballet Omaggio a Maurice Béjart, also featuring Roberto Bolle, and returning to Teatro alla Scala Milano for the Concerto di Natale (Beethoven 9th Symphony) with incoming music director Maestro Myung-Whun Chung as well as a return to RAI Torino for Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with Maestro Fabio Luisi.

Appearances canceled due the COVID lockdown included a semi-staged performances and professional recording of Marzelline in Beethoven’s Fidelio with Maestro Jaap van Zweden and the Hong Kong Symphony for NAXOS records, Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro at Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine, and Jenny in Der Aufsteig und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny in a return to Opernhaus Zürich with Maestro Fabio Luisi as well concerts of Beethoven 9th Symphony  with Maestro Yutaka Sado and the Tonkünstler Orchestra Wien at the Musikverein in Vienna and also with  Maestro Fabio Luisi for RAI Torino

While in the ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin she sang numerous leading roles including Gilda in Rigoletto with Maestro Kirill Petrenko, Queen Schemacha in Rimsky- Kosakov's Le Coq d'Or, Hermione in Handel's Oreste with Maestro Thomas Hengelbrock (voted 2006 Production of the Year in Germany by Opernwelt and broadcast internationally on ARTE) as well as performances of many other roles.

In addition to her performing career, Ms. Farcas enjoys a robust teaching schedule, including teaching at the Europäische Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Montepulciano (organized by the Kunst- und Musikhochschulen of Nordrhein-Westfalen), professional preparation courses via the Liz Mohn Foundation/Neue Stimmen in Berlin, public masterclasses in Hong Kong via the Hong Kong Philharmonic and in Kaohsiung, Taiwan via the Kaohsiung Spring Festival, and an upcoming masterclass residency at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, Germany.

Ms. Farcas speaks German, English, Italian, Romanian fluently and is conversant in French.
